The Georgian tray was our second replica project and we started off the second academic year with this project. Having watched the second years do their trays the year before, two things struck me, firstly how long they were taking to make and secondly would I ever be able to make one?
The finished polished tray
Both of these questions recurred as we were making the trays. It was very fiddly and precise work, but as a result of making it, I felt that I had really learnt a lot about precision and accuracy. (and French polishing)
